About the RRE PTO
Mission
Money raised throughout the school year is critical to support our mission of providing children and teachers with school supplies, books, technology, and equipment, and funding programs throughout the school year that foster curiosity, learning and fun.
Initiatives
Each year, the PTO contributes more than $30,000 towards improvements at River Ridge Elementary. These funds have been used toward playground equipment, school supplies, enrichment programs, school events, and more. Currently, donations are helping fund technology upgrades throughout the school, music and art programs, school safety and student engagement initatives.

River Ridge Elementary PTO Membership
Membership
The River Ridge Elementary PTO is unlike PTAs in that there is no fee to join and every guardian of a River Ridge student and teacher/staff member at RRE is automatically a member. All parents, guardians, teachers and staff are encouraged to become active members. We define active members as those who attend a meeting at least three times per year and volunteer at at least one event per year.
With average enrollment of more than 850 students, our goal is to maintain active membership of 10%. In 2023, we had less than 25 active members who attended meetings regularly, falling short of our goal.
Parent Ambassadors
Parent Ambassadors are members who are willing and able to give more time to the PTO, and they are a key component to our success. Parent Ambassadors are nominated by PTO members, teachers or staff to represent a grade level or special interest group at our school. Ambassadors are tasked with chairing special events, organizing volunteers, surveying the needs of teachers and students and more.
Teacher Ambassadors
Teacher Ambassadors attend regular meetings and speak on behalf of the wants and needs of the teachers and staff at River Ridge Elementary to help guide the decision making of our PTO. As one of the PTO's goals is to support the teachers and staff at our school, having Teacher Ambassadors is extremely important so that we can ensure that the decisions we make are beneficial and purposeful.
Board
Board members take on the responsibility of running the organizational aspects of the PTO including event planning, record keeping and financials. Elections for these positions are held in May each year for the upcoming school year.
